Phantom Kickboxing 1st Degree Grading Syllabus under WAKO Jurisdiction.

v Produce a 2000 word thesis on the History of Martial Arts and the evolution of Kickboxing into the Martial Arts. A verbal explanation will be required.

v Produce your beliefs on the use of force against another person in writing. A verbal explanation will be required.

v Produce the basic rules of Semi-Contact, Light Continuous & Full Contact Competition in writing.

v Produce the basic differences of Muay Thai and Kickboxing in writing. A verbal explination will be required.

DEMONSTRATION
Demonstrate a Multi-Directional Free Form using Attacking & Defensive techniques against multiple imaginary opponents.
This should last approximately 2 minutes and demonstrate many different techniques. A verbal explanation will be required.
 
PHYSICAL CONDITIONING DEMONSTRATION
Participant will stand in a horse stance for 10 minutes. Arms out streached in punch positions.
Participant will stand in a forward leaning stance for 10 minutes each leg. Arm positions will be directed.
During this time he/she mar receive some checks from the examiners to inspect the strength of the stance and the condition of the body. Thease may include strikes to the arms/legs. The participant may use meditation during this exercise if they wish.
 
PADWORK

Participate in Thai Pad Kicking. (2 mins) (Show & Strike).
 
DEFENCE (Freestyle)
Defend against unknown hand strikes, and counter strike. (Line up)

Defend against unknown Kicks, and counter strike. (Line up)

 
Defend against 5 unknown holds.
Defend against 5 unknown knife attacks.
 
SPARING
Floor Wrestling. (2 mins)
Sparing, Defending only. (2 mins)
Sparing, Attack only. (2 mins)

Sparring, Semi-Contact Controlled: (Sparring gloves, Headguards, Mouthguards, Shin Guards, Groin guards, Foot protectors.)

Controlled sparring against 2 attackers, (At once using senior grades, including take downs)
Line up of three different competitors (Senior grades) 2 min each continuous. (No rest include takedowns).
 
Grading will take approximately 3-4 hours. Participants may drink regularly and the changing of Training clothes during the session is permitted.
 

A person under the age of 16 will grade as a Junior and will be re-assessed when ready after the age of 16 years old.
