v     Student must explain the basics of the USE OF FORCE LAW against another person.

v     Student must explain the basic rule difference of Semi-Contact, Light Continuous and Full Contact, and K1 Rules.

v     Student must be competing regularly. (Min of WAKO Semi-Contact).

 

ARM TECHNIQUES
Jump Cross Punch.

KICKS
Jump Turning Back Kick

Jump Knee strike to front (K1 rules).
Roundhouse Knee Strike (K1 rules)
 
COMBINATIONS
Jab, Hook punch (rev), Uppercut (lead), Jump Front Knee Strike (rev)(K1 rules)
Double roundhouse elbow (lead + rear, Jump Knee strike to head (street defence).
Roundhouse Kick (rear), Hook kick (same) x2.
Hook kick (lead), Roundhouse kick (same) x2.
 
PADWORK
Punch Kick combinations: (approx 6) EXAMINERS CHOICE
Basic and Intermediate Levels.
Participate in Thai Pad Kicking. (2 Mins) (Show and Strike) Club instructor to instruct techniques.
Participate in Thai Pad Knee strikes. (2 Mins).
 
DEFENCE (Freestyle)
Defend against knee strikes from clinch (partners)
Defend against unknown hand strikes and counterstrike. (Line up).
Defend against unknown Kicks and counterstrike. (Line up).
Defend against 5 holds. (JUNIORS EXEMPT).
 
SPARRING
Sparring, Semi-controlled contact: (Sparring gloves, Headguards, Mouthguards, Shin guards, Groin guards, Foot protectors).
Sparring, including controlled Knee strikes (2 mins)(JUNIORS EXEMPT - use normal strikes).
Line up of three different competitors (Senior grades) 2 mins each continuous. (No rest, can include take downs).
Floor wrestling (2 mins) (JUNIORS EXEMPT)
 
PHYSICAL CONDITIONING DEMONSTRATION

Participant will stand in a Horse stance for 10 minutes. (45 degrees) Arms out stretched in punch positions. JUNIORS 5 MINUTES.

 

STAMINA

Minimum of 30 Full Press ups. (Chest to fist level. Hands & feet on floor, no knees.)
Minimum of 30 Full Sit ups. (From floor to knees. Ankles may be held.)
Minimum of 100 Full Squats. (Legs to 90degrees.)
Duck walk.

Bunny Hop.

Examiners choice of exercises.
 

A Junior is any person under 16yrs old, unless the Junior wishes to be graded as a Senior, with the Chief Examiners approval.

WAKO (NZ) believe the gaining of the Coveted Black Belt is the most prestigious award in the Martial Arts. This is the final test. There will be a minimum of 9 months preparation time to Black Belt.
