Tauranga Instructor. I was first introduced to martial arts when I was 18 years old while studying at the University of Canterbury by a friend I meet while studying. hile in Christchurch I practiced Zen Do Kai for four years, where I got to the rank of 1st Dan Black Belt, and Muay Thai Kickboxing for about a year and a half. I shifted to Tauranga in 2007 and joined Phantom Kickboxing and trained under Leith Trail. I achieved my 1st Dan Black Belt in kickboxing in April 2010 and now help with instructing at the club. I have competed in semi contact, light continuous and K-1 tournaments. I will be part of the team going to Wales to compete in the WOMAA World Championships semi contact and light continuous divisions. Achieving black belt was a huge goal of mine and it was hard earned. My main goal for now is to represent New Zealand with pride and get a good result at the WOMAA World Championships. I enjoy the competitive side of kickboxing s my results are determined by the effort that I put into the sport, I feel that kickboxing shows the strength of your character and shows where you can make improvements. I enjoy training people whether they like to fight or just do it for fun, and seeing the students improve.
