Te Awamutu Kickboxercise Instructor & Assistant Instructor to kickboxing. Jo began Kickboxing around three years ago (2008) to lose weight and gain more fitness. Jo lost over 55kg, and also went on to gaining her Black belt, winning two National titles (which selected her for the New Zealand National kickboxing team to compete at the kickboxing World Championships in Wales in August 2011) and started running her own Phantom kickboxing class. Jo loves the fitness of the sport and the meeting and interacting with other people and is very keen to travel to Europe for the chamnpionships and meet new people from abroad. She also loves the technical side of the fighting and the discipliine of the sport. Jo's ambition is to win Gold at the World championships this year. Jo is a keen referee and presently training for her qualification and is the club Kickboxercise Instructor as well as an assistant instructor for the regular club. TVNZ Good Moring featured an Interview with Jo on Good Morning TV on 11th July, which was followed up by Kickboxing techniques and exercises by Jo and Georgie Tutaki. TV3 will feature an Interview with Jo on TV3 news, and clips of her training under the guidance of Coach Rick Dobson.
