5th Degree Black Belt
I started training in June 1990 at the age of 6 years old. I started in Wado Ryu Karate and graded up to Orange belt. In 1992 I switched over to train with Phantoms school of karate as it was known then under Rick Dobson. In May 1996 I gained my 1st dan black belt under Shorai karates Joe Tierney. In my younger days in the martal arts i really only competed at competitions on a have a go basis and never took to it as a sport due to commitments in other sports. In April 2006 I was awarded my 4th Dan Black Belt by Dave Morris and John Salt of Elite Martial arts. My first title came in september 2008 which was the EMA Boston series which I took away 1st place. In Feb 2009 I won the FSK mens points under 79kgs and in march in the same year i competed in the WKC england team selections and placed 3rd and qualified me to represent WKC England in the world Championships that was taking place in Ireland. Due to financial commitments I was unable to attend. In November 2009 I opened the doors to Phantoms Kickboxing International Featherstone in the small town of Featherstone in West yorkshire. In 2010 I fought in the same competition and came away with a bronze medal and qualified but was unable to attend again. In October 2010 i was awarded my 5th Dan Blackbelt by IKO. End of 2011gained masters award 2011: WOMAA World games Silver Medal
